Installing GIMP 2.9.5 on Ubuntu (Fixes Scaling Blurriness)

Have you been using GIMP 2.8 only to find when you scale down an image for your project, the resulting resized image is really blurry? This is the one thing that kept us holding on to an old version of Adobe Photoshop. But now with GIMP 2.9.5 the problem is gone and scaling is crisp and clear, making GIMP a true alternative to Photoshop... and it's free!

Please Note: GIMP 2.9.5 is a development release. That means you may encounter bugs or other issues. It is also not compatible with your old XCF files. Be sure you want to upgrade before you do this, or test it out in a virtual machine first.

Here are the commands used in the tutorial:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:otto-kesselgulasch/gimp-edge
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install gimp
