Microsoft has a free online version of Microsoft Office. It supports traditional filetypes, and operates just like the installed version. However, since it's in the browser, it works on Windows, Mac, Linux and even Chromebooks - to name a few. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote are all available for free.
