To prepare for some of the exciting upcoming builds we have planned, we need to learn to solder. This week we look at the most basic project: replacing a plug on a pair of headphones. On GIMP Tips, we learn to use the Levels Tool to fix over/underexposed images.
We've got some exciting plans for 2016, which include Raspberry Pi builds, drone repairs and mods, and other hacks that might require us to pick up the ol' soldering iron (or is it soddering iron?) - so this week we'll take on a very basic project: replacing the plug on a pair of headphones.
Jeff brought in a really cool wireless soldering iron, powered by just 3 AA batteries! I can't believe it actually works! All these years I've been tethered to the electrical outlet... well, guess what just got added to my last-minute Christmas list?
On 20 Weeks of GIMP Tips (Week 5) we'll use the Levels Tool to fix up some under-exposed and over-exposed pictures, bringing the scene to life and exposing previously unseen elements.
Enjoy the show, and Merry Christmas from all of us here at Category5 TV!
