Expanding Your RetroPie ROM Storage

Having built a RetroPie gaming system on Episode 442, it's time to expand its storage adding 128 GB more space for your retro gaming ROMs! Rather than simply replacing the existing storage, we'll instead add additional storage and make the two cards work together.

We did it! Jeff, Sasha and I successfully expanded our RetroPie system by adding a second MicroSD card, bumping up the total storage to roughly 160 GB!

We also looked at a wonderful little video capture device that takes HDMI, Component or Composite video sources and captures them directly to a USB drive or SD card. This entirely eliminates the need for screen capture software, and gives you a chance to record retro devices too (such as Jeff's idea to import old home movies to MP4 by plugging in his old video camera). It's super cheap, super cool, and does exactly what it promises. Check out the edited review here: https://category5.tv/shows/clips_tech/episode/497-agptek-1080p-capture/

I also received my $15 Bluetooth keyboard, which I've converted into a 36-key camera switcher with Telestream Wirecast! I think I'll need to rebirth The Show Show and include this as the next feature! Check it out here: https://category5.tv/shows/clips_tech/episode/497-bluetooth-keyboard-wirecast/

Thank you so much for your continued support! Hope you enjoy the show! It sure felt good to do it again with a GOOD SD card!
