Sasha booked the week off this week, so Henry and Robbie took to getting started on our Maker Series. This week we'll dive into what gear you'll need in your kit to get started, and how you can use a multimeter to understand the electrical resistance of conductive material (which helps us understand what resistors actually do).
Something I've personally wanted to achieve for a while now is to become a Maker. That's what we call folks who know how to make stuff. In particular, functional things like electronics, or gadgets, or steampunkish moving machines. It's about being able to take ideas and bring them to fruition by implementing knowledge, skill and creativity.
As I set out to become a Maker, Henry and I opened up the new Maker Kit and get started with the first step: Learning what the heck this stuff is!
This week, it's about resistors. And I got to shock Henry, which was fun. He's a great sport. I hope he's able to taste his lunch today.
Sasha was off, so Henry took on the news from his laptop. It was a Macbook, which doesn't have HDMI output [shakes fist] so he had to look down at it since we can't connect the teleprompter to it - haha!
Enjoy the show and I hope you like learning along with me!
Thanks for supporting Category5 and making it possible to do this each and every week for all those watching.
